Consumer cooperatives - Coop

The consumer cooperatives – Coop – have altogether more than 1,2 million individual members.

There are 130 cooperative societies, approximately 1 000 shops and the consumer cooperative movement employs altogether more than 22 500 people.

The annual turnover is approximately 34 billion NOK, and the market share for groceries is approximately 24 %.

The main objective of the consumer co-operatives is to provide the members with sound and useful goods and services at competitive prices, and at the same time to be an interest organization for the members in consumer issues.
 
The central organization of the consumer cooperative societies is Coop Norway SA, established in 1906.
